The club record Tench that was caught by Robert Veitch in June 1997, from Pennybridge. The fish weighed 6lb 4oz.
The current club record Crucian Carp that was caught by Mike Milledge in September 2011. The fish weighed 2lb 5oz.
The current club record Chub that was caught by Pete Meiners in November 2012, from the River Eden at Gabriels Fishery. The fish weighed 5lb 8oz. Pete told us "It was a perfect days fishing and this is by far the best fish I have caught in my angling career. I had to hold on tight to stop it disappearing into a sunken tree, but my cane rod and centrepin reel were both up to the job. The irresistible cheese paste strikes again!"
The current club record Common Carp that was caught by James Howland in May 2013, from Oak Lake at Gabriels Fishery. The fish weighed 22lb 4oz.
This club record Conger Eel was caught off Eastbourne by Gordy Wheeler in July 2002. The fish weighed 75lbs. The weight was estimated by the skipper and the fish was unhooked and released without ever leaving the water.
The current club record Roach that was caught by Mike Waters in June 2013 from Wirgol I. The fish weighed 2lb 1oz.
The current club record Perch that was caught by Mike Waters on the 26th March 2014, from Scaland Wood. The fish weighed 4lbs exactly and was seventeen inches long. Mike said he caught the fish on a prawn, a size 16 hook and 3lb line, and thought he had hooked a Carp. Once it surfaced Mike said "I was more nervous than I have ever been when landing a fish."
Current club record Mirror Carp caught from MIll House Farm on 9th May 2023 by Tom Jarret weighing 32lb 8oz.
A previous club record Mirror Carp that was caught by Allan Grange on the 15th March 2015, from Weirwood Reservoir. The fish weighed 25lb 4oz. Alan told us “I was fishing with my son and it had been a bit of a blank day until just after 3pm – and then I caught this monster!” He went on to say that he was using a 10-foot feeder rod, with 6lb mainline and a 4lb hook length. We asked him what size hook he was using and he said “a size 16, with double white maggot!”
This specimen Mirror Carp was caught by Dave Funnell in July 2004, from Wirgol II. The fish weighed 11lb 2oz.
This specimen Common Carp was caught by Bob Funnell in August 2004, from Wirgol II. The fish weighed 16lb 6oz.

This specimen Perch was caught by Tony Pick in November 2012, from Hare Lake at Gabriels Fishery. The fish weighed 2lb 4oz.
This specimen Bass was caught by the designer of our Club badge, Mick Loates, in September 2012. Mick was fishing a freelined Sandeel at Hope Cove near Salcombe in Devon. The fished weighed 11lbs.

This specimen Perch was caught by Simon Rout in August 2012, from Wirgol I. The fished weighed 2lb 10oz.
This specimen Turbot was caught by Cris Millis on the last Club trip to Alderney between the 30th September and the 4th October 2013. The fish weighed 14lb 6oz. Cris told us "It was a cracking fish and although they can grow to twice the size, this one was quite a challenge to get on board the boat - it certainly had the turbo in Turbot."
The former club record Mirror Carp that was caught by Tom Warren on the 7th July 2013, from Admiral Lake at Gabriels Fishery. The fish weighed 23lb 4oz and was caught on a free-lined dog biscuit. Tom said " I had been stalking it for a while before it took my bait. It put up a furious fight but I landed it eventually. My friend Charlie Friston was on hand to take the photograph." As Tom was under 18 when he caught the fish, this also stands as a Junior Record.
This specimen Undulate Ray was caught by Adrian Colliver on the last Club trip to Alderney between the 30th September and the 4th October 2013. The fish weighed 14lb 6oz.
This specimen Brill was caught by Ken Morrison on the last Club trip to Alderney between the 30th September and the 4th October 2013. The fish weighed 7lb 2oz.
This specimen Yelloweye Snapper was caught by one of our longest serving members, Dave Park, in March 2013. Dave was fishing from a boat out in Montego Bay, off the Jamaican coast. The fish was caught from a depth of 1,000 feet although it's weight was not recorded.
This specimen Mirror Carp of 33lbs was caught from Admirals Lake at Gabriels Fishery by Darren Thomson on the 10th June 2014. Fish caught from Admirals Lake only count for the “Fish of the Year” trophy. Darren was out for a 24-hour session, with his daughter’s boyfriend, Chris Jones. Just before 1pm his bait was taken by a huge 33lb Mirror Carp. He told us “I was using PVA bags with chopped up cell boilies when I caught this fish.
This specimen Mirror Carp of 24lbs was caught from Oak Lake at Gabriels Fishery by Darren Thompson on the 11th June 2014. Darren was in the middle of a 24-hour session on Admirals Lake, when he decided to break away for some stalking on Oak Lake. When he spotted some fish he free lined a little sweetcorn, which was taken by this fabulous 24lb bronzed Mirror Carp. Chris Jones and Roy Williamson, the bailiff at Gabriels Fishery, witnessed this fish.
These specimen Plaice were caught by John Manktelow on the 14th June 2014, off the coast from Eastbourne. The fish weighed 5lbs and 4lb 10oz. John told us that everyone had a great time that day with more than fifty Plaice being landed between all the anglers.
This specimen Barbel of 9lb 2oz was caught in the River Wye, on the 7th September, by long standing Club member Dave Park. Dave said "I caught this beauty legering up stream into a deep undercut hole. The Wye was very clear during summer 2014 and the levels are as low as I have seen them. Once hooked, the fish out up a ten minute fight, but in the end I was pleased to land it and she posed well for the picture - It shows we old codgers over 80 can still fish a bit!"
This specimen Mirror Carp of 12lb 2oz was caught at Scaland Wood in March 2015, by junior member Joshua Jackson. Joshua told us "After a morning catching plenty of sliver fish I set up a new float rig at 13:25 and fished it close to the bank. I was just about to reel in, but felt something and then thought I had caught a snag, except that the line started to pull away. After an intense ten-minute battle on 3lb line and a size 16 hook this beauty finally surfaced and was soon in my landing net.

Caught by Jeremy Stone from Armadale shore on the Isle of Skye on the 5th September 2019 and weighing in at 171lb as calculated from it's wingspan & length (5ft 6in x 6ft 6in). The fish was released to fight another day and therefore could not be put forward for the UK record which currently stands at 169lb 6oz, although fish of 200lb plus have been caught in recent years.
